Ultimate Fighting Championship has has inked a deal with TQS, a privately-owned French-language television network in Canada, and announced to air UFC events and programming, marking the first time in North American history that live UFC fights will be seen on terrestrial television. TQS has reached an agreement with UFC to present fights traditionally only aired by cable television networks."We are pleased to have this deal in place, and look forward to bringing the most exciting live event in the world to TQS viewers," said UFC President Dana White. "UFC is huge in Canada, we have incredible fighters from there, and now fans in Quebec can experience UFC for free on TQS."Starting Friday, March 27, at 9:00 PM ET, TQS will air over 52 hours of UFC programming in Canadian French language including four live events featuring the greatest athletes in mixed martial arts, as well as episodes of "UFC WiRED" and "UFC Unleashed". The UFC WiRED edition on TQS will be hosted by Rej Laplanche and UFC middleweight fighter Patrick Cote. The series is produced by UFC as well as IDI, the production company headed by Anne-Marie Losique and Marc Trudeau.The first event will be UFC Fight Night: Condit vs. Kampmann on same-day tape-delay on Wednesday, April 1 at 10:30 PM ET.

Following the UFC 90 event at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, on October 25, 2008, three UFC fighters have been issued medical suspensions, following their performances.Patrick "The Predator" Cote (picture), who suffered a knee injury shortly in to the third round of his fight with Anderson "The Spider" Silva, has been suspended for 45 days and can have no contact for 30 days. Cote will likely be sidelined longer depending on the nature of his knee injury.UFC heavyweight Fabricio Werdum has been suspended 60 days, no contact for 45 days. Werdum lost to Junior Dos Santos via a stunning TKO in the first round.Drew McFedries, who fought on the preliminary card, was also suspended for 30 days following his submission loss to Thales Leites in the first round.
