UFC light heavyweight fighter Houston "The Assassin" Alexander rescued a child left alone inside an unlocked car in Omaha, Nebraska, last Wednesday according to Omaha's NBC network affiliate, WOWT-TV.Alexander, who spotted the four-year-old girl crying inside a Chevy Lumina, attended to her by leading her on a search for her guardian. The heavy puncher first took her into a dialysis center before finding the girl's mother at the next door plasma center.The mother was reported to the Child Protective Services and cited for misdemeanor child neglect.Alexander out of Omaha, has another heroic story. The father of six carries a scar on his stomach from donating his kidney nine years ago to his daughter.Alexander recently withdrew from his UFC 98 bout on May 23 against Andre Gusmao due to an injured hand.

Knockout artist Houston Alexander is going to have to wait even longer for what could be his last fight in the UFC. After shocking knockouts in his first two UFC bouts with losses in his last three fights, the UFC could release him if he loses a fourth in a row.
Scheduled to face Andre Gusmao at UFC 98, a broken hand has forced Alexander off the card.
His opponent Gusmao will remain on the card but the UFC has yet to sign a replacement for Alexander.

After almost signing with UFC earlier this year, it now appears that capoeira and jiu-jitsu expert Andre Gusmao will finally make his debut for the promotion in August at UFC 87.Currently undefeated in his professional career, Gusmao was prematurely speculated to face David Heath at UFC 81 in February, but it was then discovered that he was still under obligation to the International Fight League (IFL).During his time with the IFL, Gusmao served as an alternate for Renzo Gracie's Pitbulls, racking up four wins in the promotion.Gusmao was supposedly signed and ready to fight Heath when his previous contractual obligations were revealed, but now it appears he has fulfilled his time with the IFL and now moves on to the UFC.At this time no opponent has been named for Gusmao in his debut, but more fights for the Minnesota card are expected soon.UFC 87 bouts (officially announced):- Georges St. Pierre vs Jon Fitch- Kenny Florian vs Roger Huerta- Brock Lesnar vs Heath HerringUFC 87 bouts (unannounced yet):- Frankie Edgar vs Hermes Franca- Cheick Kongo vs Dan Evensen- Mac Danzig vs Clay Guida- Steve Bruno vs Chris Wilson- Karo Parisyan vs TBA- Andre Gusmao vs TBA
