Former UFC welterweight title contender turned middleweight journeyman Frank Trigg recently sent a message out by Facebook stating that he would be returning to action in February:
"It looks like I will be fighting in Feb but can't say where yet. Once the deal is done I will let you guys know."
Trigg last fought for the Strikeforce promotion in October posting a unanimous decision victory over Falaniko Vitale. Trigg sports an 18-6 record and is riding a three fight win streak. Since leaving the UFC following a brutal submission loss to Georges St. Pierre at UFC 54 in August of 2005, "Twinkle Toes" is 6-2 and at one point was the ICON Sport Middleweight Champion in Hawaii.
Although the promotion and the opponent are not known, one could speculate that Trigg could be fighting on a rumored Strikeforce card that is in the works. Last week, Joe Riggs told that he would be fighting on the card but did not have any other details.
